Abstract

emotional intelligence and attachment types in individuals of early adulthood. Analysis of theoretical knowledge indicates that emotional intelligence and attachment may be related to each other through close involvement in the emotional sphere of the person. Existing studies indicate that the secure type operates better with emotions, while insecure attachment types have difficulties in adaptively involving the emotional sphere in life. The results of the empirical study demonstrate a reduced level of general emotional intelligence in the sample. The study participants have good skills in identifying emotional states, but there are significant difficulties in managing them. The most common type of attachment among respondents is secure attachment. Mathematical analysis indicates the presence of a correlation between anxious attachment and poorer management, as well as identification of emotions. While avoidant attachment is associated with greater difficulties in describing feelings. At the same time, insecure types of attachment are generally associated with a higher level of alexithymia. The results of the revealed connection indicate the prospects for further research on the topic. Psychocorrectional measures have been proposed to reduce the manifestations of insecure attachment by influencing the components of emotional intelligence. In particular, increasing the ability to identify emotions through the development of the observed Ego, and the use of bodily and cognitive techniques to improve the ability to manage emotional states.
