Abstract
The article defines concepts of the vocational self-development of the future music teacher, his competence in this kind of occupation. The author considers features of the instrumental and vocal skills of students from the perspective of the axiological, synergetic, competence approaches, discusses competence structure and educational environment favouring the efficiency of their development.
