Abstract
As part of the practical section of the bachelor’s thesis, an informational Facebook group titled “War of Facts and Fakes” was created and developed. The group is dedicated to countering disinformation and promoting fact-checking in the context of the full-scale war. The main goal of the project was to inform the public about the dangers of disinformation, analyze specific examples of manipulative content, and spread knowledge about tools for verifying information. The group regularly published analytical posts, debunks of false news, examples of responsible journalism, and educational content focused on media literacy. It serves as a space for monitoring the information landscape, analyzing potentially fake messages, comparing sources and facts, and sharing materials that help users develop critical thinking skills. While working on the group, a significant volume of journalistic materials and bloggers’ posts was reviewed and analyzed. This practical component not only allowed for testing the effectiveness of social media as a tool for citizen journalism but also helped assess the level of interest and engagement of the target audience in the topic of fact-checking.
