Abstract
The qualification work examines the coverage of personal stories, problems and needs of military personnel and their families in the context of regional media. The main focus is on the study of media practices that reflect the complex stories of military service and captivity, social adaptation of the military, as well as the history and urgent needs of their families. The work contains an analysis of the author's own publications published in the regional edition «Pivden' sogodni», which were placed in the section «Russia's War against Ukraine», covering topics related to the war, as well as an analysis of colleagues' materials that raise topical issues and questions related to the war and commemoration of the fallen Heroes. In addition, they study the standards of journalistic ethics in covering military conflicts, the specifics of conducting interviews with people who have suffered psychological or physical trauma, and the representation of such stories in the media.
