Abstract
The series of publications ‘How the Hadiach Printed Press was Founded and Developed in the Early Twentieth Century’ was created to promote the history of local journalism, based on archival sources, historical newspapers, and analytical understanding of the stages of formation and development of the press in Hadiach. The publications use the genres of historical essay and analytical article. All the materials are combined into a single author's cycle published in the all-Ukrainian journal ‘Ridnyi Krai’. The relevance of the work lies in drawing attention to an under-researched topic - the history of local print media, which in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries were not only a communication tool but also a component of the cultural memory of the region. Particular emphasis is placed on the periods when the press performed a propaganda function under imperial censorship or Soviet ideology, as well as in the modern period - in the context of digital transformations and changes in editorial policy. The cycle consists of eight thematic publications covering key periods: from the first newspapers of the early twentieth century to the modern functioning of the publication in independent Ukraine. The work makes extensive use of visual aids, such as archival photos, scanned copies of newspaper pages, and fragments of publications. The author's cycle of publications, which is the basis of the bachelor's thesis, is an example of modern memory journalism and the combination of journalistic creativity with historical research at the local level.
