Abstract
This paper explores the role of photography as one of the most powerful tools of journalistic influence in times of war and in preserving historical information. It analyzes the works of Ukrainian and international photojournalists taken during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The study identifies and classifies the artistic techniques and methods used by photographers in their visual narratives. The purpose of these techniques is defined as conveying information about events, evoking emotional responses from the global audience, and shaping specific narratives. Special attention is given to how visual media contribute to the formation of collective memory, documentation of historical events, and the preservation of human stories in public discourse. The work also examines the creation of audiovisual content through the case study of the podcast «U Fokusi» («In Focus»). It highlights photography’s significance as both a tool of journalism and an ethical challenge in the context of war.
