Abstract
The online project FRONTERA was created in response to the challenges facing modern journalism during armed conflict. In times of war, media plays a vital role in delivering truth, combating disinformation, maintaining societal morale, and preserving historical memory. This project explores the specifics of reporters’ work on the front lines, addresses issues of war ethics, freedom of speech, censorship, psychological burnout, and also presents personal stories of Ukrainian and international journalists. The primary goal was to develop a full-fledged online platform that combines analytics, articles, interviews, reports, podcasts, and visual content — from infographics to thematic photo galleries. The site functions as an independent media outlet and features several thematic sections, including: “Under Fire”, “Voices of War”, “Law and Journalism”, “Personal Stories”, “Media and the Front”, among others. All materials are based on the principles of credibility, fact-checking, adherence to professional standards, and respect for ethical norms. FRONTERA not only informs but also fulfills an educational role, providing a space for discussion, analysis, and support for journalists working in extremely difficult circumstances. Thanks to in-depth publications and a creative approach to content presentation, the platform emphasizes the media’s role as yet another frontline in today’s war.
