Abstract
The article deals with the problem of dialogical reading of foreign texts. Readers' activity in the process of reading and understanding forein newspaper texts is considered important. The main methods of dialogical interaction with texts are analysed. The students' skills of asking questions and commenting upon the given texts are tested. The results of the tests show the lack of students' critical thinking and imply the necessity of introduction of dialogical reading methods into educational process.
