Abstract
The video interview “Piano Under the Sounds of Alarm: A Conversation with Zhі Kaiwei” is a pilot media project created within the framework of this bachelor’s qualification work. The aim is to study the interview as a tool for capturing cultural experience under the conditions of full-scale war in Ukraine through producing an original journalistic material based on an in-depth conversation with an artist. At the core of the project is the personality of a musician directly involved in the cultural life of the country during the war. The interview was conducted with professional pianist Zhі Kaiwei — an internationally recognized artist who has been working in Ukraine for a long time and actively collaborates with with the Honoured Academic Symphony Orchestra of Ukrainian Radio The project was realized in the format of a one-time video interview with a duration of 18 minutes. The recording took place at the Educational and Production Workshop “A-Studio” of the Faculty of Journalism at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, using professional technical equipment. The video distribution is planned via online platforms with the prospect of inclusion in a series of journalistic media products aimed at preserving cultural memory under martial law conditions.
