Abstract
The master's research substantiates approaches to the formation of patriotic feelings of preschool children by means of fiction as an important component of national-patriotic education. The potential of Ukrainian fairy tales, poetry, short stories and small folklore forms in the development of emotional sensitivity, love for the native land, respect for cultural heritage and family traditions is revealed. Methodological principles for the selection of literary works, forms of educational interaction with children of senior preschool age that contribute to the active experience of content - theatricalization, interactive reading, visual interpretations, speech creative tasks are outlined. The importance of creating a holistic educational environment in which the literary text becomes a means of forming value orientations and an emotional connection with the Motherland is emphasized. Practical materials of the master's work can be used by educators to improve work with fiction and implement modern approaches to the patriotic education of preschool children.
