Abstract

The relevance of the study is determined by the ongoing modernization of the preschool education system and the need to update approaches to methodological support for educators in the field of children's social and emotional development. Social and emotional development is a key component of the harmonious formation of a preschool child's personality, as it defines the ability to understand one’s own emotions, recognize the feelings of others, establish positive relationships, and interact constructively with peers and adults. Play activity, as the leading type of activity in preschool age, serves as a natural and highly effective means of socialization and emotional expression. At the same time, an analysis of the practices of preschool education institutions indicates an insufficient level of methodological support for play activity, which highlights the need to develop a comprehensive system of work with educators. The aim of the study is to theoretically justify and empirically verify the effectiveness of a system of methodological support for play activity as a means of social and emotional development of older preschool children. The practical significance of the master's project lies in the creation of a methodological website, “Play Activity as a Means of Social and Emotional Development of Older Preschool Children,” which contains theoretical materials, methodological recommendations, additional resources, video content, and useful links. The developed resource can be used by preschool educators and parents to improve the quality of organizing play activities and to ensure the comprehensive social and emotional development of children.
