Abstract

Introduction. The economic sustainability of small communities is a determining factor in regional development and social stability. In today's conditions of globalization challenges, economic fluctuations and regional imbalances, the ability of small territorial communities to adapt to changes, effectively manage resources and ensure economic self-sufficiency is becoming a strategic priority. Small communities combine the advantages of operational management and a high level of social interaction with limited financial and institutional capabilities, which requires special attention to mechanisms for ensuring their sustainability. Materials and methods. The main methods of the presented work are: methods of analysis and synthesis to determine the features of the economic sustainability of small communities; methods of induction and deduction to identify the special features of management in the system of forming the sustainability of small communities; method of generalization to form a generalized table of the features of economic sustainability; logical method to build the general logic of the work; method of comparison, graphic method for visual display of the materials of the work. The purpose of the presented work is to determine the features of the economic sustainability of small communities, taking into account the role of three components: governance, business, and citizens. Results and discussion. It is proven that the economic sustainability of small communities is formed on the basis of three interrelated components: effective local governance, active participation of business structures and citizen involvement. Management practices determine the ability of a community to strategic planning, optimize resources and ensure the stability of infrastructure. Business ensures economic development through job creation, investment attraction and implementation of innovative solutions, while citizens, participating in collective initiatives and local projects, strengthen social cohesion and increase the effectiveness of management decisions. A methodological approach to the formation of a complex of economic sustainability of small communities is presented, taking into account the three components of governance, business and citizens. Conclusions. Research into the economic sustainability of small communities confirms that its formation is the result of the interaction of three key factors: effective local governance, an active business environment and citizen involvement. Governance practices determine the strategic direction of development, resource optimization and the ability of communities to respond promptly to internal and external challenges. Businesses involved in regional processes stimulate economic growth, create jobs, introduce innovations and contribute to the mobilization of financial resources. Citizens, in turn, through participation in collective initiatives and local projects, strengthen social cohesion and ensure more effective implementation of management decisions.
