Abstract
The master’s thesis examines the features of the formation and transformation of international migration processes, as well as their impact on the socio-economic development of Ukraine under the conditions of contemporary globalization. It is emphasized that migration is no longer a peripheral phenomenon but has become one of the key factors shaping labor-market dynamics, demographic trends, and the economic resilience of states. The relevance of the topic arises from large-scale shifts in migration flows driven by military events, integration processes, and structural changes in the global economy. The purpose of the thesis is to generalize theoretical approaches to the study of international migration, analyze the key factors determining its intensity, and assess the economic consequences of migratory movements for Ukraine. The first chapter presents a systematization of scholarly approaches to explaining the causes of migration and methods of its analysis, and outlines the role of international and national institutions in regulating migration processes. The second chapter contains an examination of global and regional trends, contemporary challenges in migration policy, and the characteristics of structural changes in Ukrainian migration observed over the last decade. The third chapter considers the economic effects of migration for Ukraine, including its influence on employment, tax revenues, the labor market, and the reproduction of human capital, and proposes directions for improving state policy in the post-war period. The practical significance of the thesis lies in the potential application of its results in the formation of strategic decisions on migration governance, the development of mechanisms for migrant return, the mobilization of diaspora financial flows, and the restoration of the country’s labor potential. The findings may be useful for public authorities, expert institutions, and research centers working in the fields of migration and socio-economic policy.
