Abstract
The master’s thesis focuses on substantiating human resource management based on empathic leadership in a general secondary education institution. The study clarifies the essence of staff development in a modern organization, defines the content and characteristics of empathic leadership, and summarizes theoretical HRM approaches where empathy is treated as a key leadership competence. The object of the research is the HR management system of Gymnasium No. 180 in the Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv, and the subject is staff development processes grounded in empathic leadership. The thesis presents a brief profile of the gymnasium, its organizational structure, staff and culture, and, using a staff survey, assesses the empathy level of the principal’s leadership style, identifying main strengths and challenges. Practical recommendations for implementing empathic leadership in schools and prospects for its further development are proposed. The thesis includes an introduction, three chapters, conclusions, references and appendices; total volume 104 pages, with 63 sources.
