Abstract
The article describes the essence of extracurricular work in higher educational establishment. The features and the role of students' independent extracurricular work in the formation of professional and pedagogical communicative competence of future teachers of foreign languages are designated. The efficiency of educational-research and scientific-research students' independent work as forms of extracurricular activities the future teacher is given
