Abstract

The article discusses the importance of psychological resources of the individual, in particular resilience and value orientations, in the process of overcoming addictive behavior. The authors analyze the role of these resources in the formation of intrinsic motivation and stress resistance, which are key elements in the recovery process. Resilience, as a resource of psychological stability, allows an individual to adapt to difficult conditions and find ways to resolve crisis situations, while clearly formed value orientations contribute to the definition of new life priorities and goals that help to replace addictive behavior with healthier strategies of self-realization. The article emphasizes that successful overcoming of addiction is the result of the interaction of these psychological resources, which not only help a person to overcome difficulties, but also contribute to the formation of stable motivational guidelines for achieving long-term recovery. Popular research by scholars on this issue is analyzed. The authors also determine that psychological resources of a person are internal personal characteristics that help a person to adapt to difficult life circumstances, overcome stressful situations, develop and maintain psychological well-being. They play a key role in building resilience and resistance to negative influences, including addictive behavior. The main types of psychological resources are considered, namely: resilience; value orientations; self-regulation and emotional stability; cognitive coping strategies; social support; motivation for self-development and optimistic style of thinking. The role of resilience and value orientations of the individual in the fight against addictive behavior is determined. The relationship between resilience, value orientations and strategies for overcoming addictive behavior is substantiated: resilience allows a person to survive difficulties in the process of change, and value orientations give them an understanding of why these changes are important. Together, they can become the basis for recovery and successful overcoming of addictive behavior. It is concluded that the formation and development of psychological resources is an effective means of preventing and overcoming addictive behavior. Programs for the development of resilience and positive value orientations can become the basis for psycho-correctional work with people prone to addiction.
