Abstract

The aim of the article is to analyse the didactic potential of contemporary newspaper material in the professional training of future Germanic philologists, taking into account the requirements of philological education and current approaches to the use of authentic and media texts in foreign language teaching. The study focuses on substantiating the role of newspaper material as a resource for developing students’ linguistic, discursive and media literacy competences.
