Abstract

The article examines the importance of museification as a tool for preserving historical and cultural heritage and developing the tourist and recreational potential of small historical towns. The aim is to substantiate the architectural and planning decision to create a museum of King Danylo Romanovych in the city of Volodymyr as a key element of revitalizing the historical environment. The methodology is based on historical and architectural analysis, the study of Ukrainian and European museification practices, and the assessment of socio-economic prospects for the community. The creation of a museum of King Danylo Romanovych in Volodymyr has significant potential in both cultural and educational and tourism and economic aspects. First of all, such a museum will become an important factor in the preservation and updating of historical and cultural heritage, providing a representation of the era of the Galicia-Volyn principality in an accessible and modern form. The use of interactive technologies, multimedia installations, and reconstructions of medieval life will allow attracting a wide audience of visitors of different age groups. The novelty of the study lies in the integration of a new cultural space into the tourist route of the city, which will contribute to the growth of tourist flows, the development of the service sector and the increase in the economic activity of the community. At the same time, the museum is able to perform the functions of an educational and research center, combining scientific activities, cultural practices and the popularization of national history. In the context of global transformations and changes in value priorities in Ukrainian society, the proposed museum will emerge as a cultural form of development of the national cultural space.
