Abstract
The profession of a primary school teacher belongs to the “person- person” type, which involves intensive interpersonal interaction, emotional involvement and constant responsibility for the development of the child’s personality. A feature of the professional activity of a primary school teacher is that younger schoolchildren need significant emotional support, which causes increased expenditure of the teacher’s psychological resources. In the conditions of educational reforms, social instability and increased social expectations, the psychological load on the teacher increases significantly. Long-term functioning in conditions of professional stress can lead to the appearance of negative personal changes – professional destructions. The article provides a theoretical analysis of the problem of professional destructions of the personality of a primary school teacher. The psychological content of the concepts of “professional destruction”, “professional burnout”, “professional deformation” is revealed. The specifics of the activity of a primary school teacher as a risk factor for the occurrence of destructive changes are determined. The main types of professional destructions are analyzed: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, reduction of professional achievements, rigidity, role conflict, and didactogeny. External (organizational, social) and internal (personal) factors of destructions are characterized. The dynamics of the development of professional deformations depending on the length of service is considered. Directions of psychological prevention and correction of professional destructions are proposed. Professional destructions of the personality of a primary school teacher is a complex systemic phenomenon that is formed under the influence of organizational, personal and socio-psychological factors. Their structure includes emotional, cognitive, behavioral and motivational changes. Some researchers are close in their definitions: professional destruction is changes, deviations from generally accepted moral and professional norms on the path of personality development. In the structure of professional genesis, along with professional formation and skill, phenomena of professional stagnation and regression may occur. Professional deformation is manifested in the excessive development of individual qualities that were adaptive at the initial stages of activity but later acquired a rigid character. The article analyzes the psychological mechanisms of the formation of professional destructions in the context of the theory of stress, the concept of emotional burnout and the activity approach. The specifics of the professional activity of a primary school teacher as a factor in the development of destructive personality changes are determined. Therefore, maintaining the professional health of a primary school teacher is an important condition for improving the quality of the educational process and the harmonious development of the personality of students.
