Abstract
The article scientifically substantiates the role of the accompanist in solo singing classes and the professional development of vocal students. The essence of the concept of «concertmaster», its functions, and the specifics of its work in various music performance classes at the university are analyzed. The specifics of the work of an accompanist in academic and pop singing classes are described. Similarities and differences in working on piano accompaniment for classical, pop, and jazz pieces have been identified. Piano parts of vocal repertoire are considered in two meanings: as special piano accompaniment to chamber vocal works; as accompaniment to arias from operas, oratorios, cantatas, created on the basis of orchestral scores. The main forms and methods of work of an accompanist on vocal works that contribute to the creative, performing, and general musical development of a student vocalist have been identified. In the work of a vocal class accompanist, it is recommended to adhere to the following principles: Creative synergy with the singer. Moral-psychological, and tempo-meter-rhythmic support for the student. Determination of the piano accompaniment by the creative and performative tasks of the vocal piece. Auditory-visual-motor coordination of the concertmaster's musical performance actions. Genre and style compliance. Pedagogical tolerance. Coordinating the work of the accompanist with the requirements of the teacher and the tasks of professional training of vocal students at the university. Conclusions have been formulated: 1. Developed piano technique, creative-communication and pedagogical skills, mobility, quick reactions, knowledge of the vocal repertoire and the specifics of professional training for singers ensure the success of the accompanist in the university's vocal class. 2. The accompanist's adherence to pedagogically appropriate forms, methods, and principles of working with students on vocal works contributes to the effectiveness of the educational process. 3. Professional training of vocal students in piano class has a positive impact on their understanding of the importance of accompaniment and the role of the accompanist in vocal performance. 4. The professionalism of the accompanist is an important factor in the professional development of a vocal student.
