Abstract

The article presents the results of historical and pedagogical research on the relevance of Sofia Rusova's ideas about the developmental environment for children. Based on the results of studying materials from archive funds, the coherence of the teacher's ideas with the modern concepts of the New Ukrainian School has been established: the construction of the educational process taking into account the principle of environmental compliance, the idea of ​​​​value-filled developmental environments, the development of developmental centers taking into account the environmental approach on a cultural and national basis, partnership interaction of participants in the educational process in a developmental environment.
