Abstract

The article examines the role of the academic school in the development of fine arts and design in contemporary conditions characterized by intensive processes of globalization, digitalization, and transformation of the cultural space. Academic art education is considered as a fundamental system for the formation of professional competencies, artistic thinking, and visual culture of future specialists in the field of art and design. Particular attention is paid to the importance of classical disciplines — drawing, painting, and composition — as basic components of training that ensure the integrity and depth of professional preparation. The interaction between traditional academic approaches and modern educational practices is analyzed, in particular the integration of digital technologies, new media, and interdisciplinary methods into the educational process. It is determined that the modern academic school is not a static system, but rather a dynamic structure capable of adapting to changes while preserving its fundamental principles and values. The methodological basis of the research is a comprehensive approach that includes the analysis of scientific sources, comparative analysis of educational models, and generalization of practical experience of art higher education institutions. The article examines both Ukrainian and international experience of the functioning of the academic art school, which makes it possible to outline the main trends of its development in the contemporary context. The scientific novelty of the study lies in rethinking the role of the academic school as a key factor in the formation of the professional identity of an artist and designer within the modern visual culture. The necessity of preserving academic traditions in combination with innovative approaches is substantiated, which ensures the competitiveness of specialists in the field of creative industries. The conclusions emphasize that the effective development of fine arts and design is possible under the condition of a harmonious combination of traditional academic foundations with modern technological and creative approaches, which contributes to the formation of a holistic, flexible, and adaptive specialist.
