Анотація

The relevance of this study is determined by the high prevalence of burns and the severe consequences they cause. During the period of hostilities as a result of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, among all injuries of Ukrainians, burns of the upper extremities reach 90%. Burns of the upper extremities can cause local complications, in particular infectious processes, the formation of deep scars and contractures, which limit mobility in the joints and muscle strength and complicate the functional use of the hand. Therefore, physical rehabilitation of Ukrainians with burns of the upper extremities is relevant, which will allow them to return to a full life. 16 men with burns of the upper extremities participated in the experimental study. Examination of patients with burns of the upper extremities included a study of the mobility and strength of the muscles of their upper extremities. The examination was carried out before the start of the implementation of the physical therapy program, which lasted for two weeks, and after the impact of the program. The program was implemented using such physical therapy methods as positioning, therapeutic gymnastics, occupational therapy exercises, mechanotherapy, and therapeutic massage. As a result of the study, it was found that the use of the proposed physical therapy program contributed to improving joint mobility and increasing muscle strength in patients with upper limb burns. The developed physical therapy program will accelerate the recovery of patients with upper limb burns and return them to everyday life.
