Abstract

The article analyses the problem of patriotic education of choreography students by means of Ukrainian folk dance. The issue is examined in pedagogical, cultural and artistic discourse. It is noted that patriotism should be viewed as a complex value characteristic of a person who is aware of their belonging to the national community and is ready to act for the good of the state. The article raises the issue of cultural and folklore heritage as an important factor in the formation and development of folk choreographic art, which has a powerful potential for shaping the moral and ethical principles of the individual. The article points out the peculiarities of the realisation of patriotic potential in choreography students through the stylistics of Ukrainian folk dance. It is emphasised that the formation of patriotism in choreography students is a holistic and consistent pedagogical process that is implemented in the course of mastering professional disciplines and involves the integration of various forms and methods of educational, scientific, research, and independent activities. It is determined that the cultivation of patriotism through folk choreographic art is an effective and pedagogically appropriate direction for the formation of national consciousness in future choreographers. Emphasis is placed on the educational and creative activities of students who integrate national choreographic images into their own performance practice. A system of pedagogical methods has been identified, which is implemented through professional training and contributes to the formation of the worldview of future specialists based on Ukrainian-centric values. The scientific novelty of the research is presented, which consists in the theoretical justification and practical confirmation of the effectiveness of using Ukrainian folk dance as a factor in the patriotic education of choreography students in the process of professional training.
