Abstract
The clear tendency of Maksym Rylsky work – the reception of antique images, motives and genre forms – is being illustrated with the example of transformation of Sappho’s and Anacreon’s works, Alcaeus’ thematic triad “wine – nature – love” and other motives of Ancient Greek and Roman lyrics in neoclassicist’s love poetry. His lyrical hero is a result of synthesis of classic and modern poetries’ traditions; it is personified in mythical and literary antique images and represents the author’s worship of eternal Beauty
