Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the essence of the spiritual meanings of the cultural and symbolic space as an environment for the reproduction of shared values, meanings, and models of solidarity that ensure the resilience of Ukrainian national identity under the conditions of Russia’s war, which has acquired a global hybrid character. The aim of the article is to examine the spiritual meanings of the Ukrainian spiritual and symbolic space as an effective means of preserving and reproducing national identity in the context of Russia’s hybrid war. The research problem is examined through the prism of the multi-level structure of identity, encompassing worldview, spiritual-cultural, religious, and value-based dimensions. Particular attention is paid to the national-civic level of identity, associated with belonging to the Ukrainian political nation, citizenship, shared responsibility for the state, and participation in public life, which acquires a special integrative role in wartime. The linguistic-symbolic level of national identity is also revealed, representing language and state and cultural symbols as key markers of self-identification. It is emphasized that the Ukrainian language, flag, coat of arms, song, and vyshyvanka function as signs of unity, resistance, and solidarity in the context of Russia’s hybrid war. The conclusions highlight that, amid contemporary existential challenges, Ukrainian state and cultural symbols emerge as crucial elements of collective consciousness and significant factors of social cohesion
