Abstract
The article examines the theoretical and methodological principles of implementing project-based learning in modern literary education in the context of a competency paradigm. The effectiveness of project activity as a technology for active knowledge construction, which contributes to the formation of subject and key competencies of students, the development of critical thinking, research skills, and communication skills, is substantiated. The focus is on the concept of mapping a literary text as an innovative model of project-based learning, which involves visual and symbolic modeling of the spatial organization of the artistic world of the work and the system of worldview orientations of the characters. The space of a literary work is interpreted as a semiotically rich coordinate system (“map of the hero’s world”), which determines behavioral strategies, moral choices, and life trajectories of the characters. The functioning of the artistic space in Ukrainian literature, which is studied in high school, is analyzed on the basis of the works of Ivan Nechuy-Levytsky, Panas Myrny and Ivan Bilyk, Ivan Bahryany, Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky and Lesya Ukrainka, Mykola Kulish and Oleksandr Dovzhenko, which allowed us to identify different models of “mapping” the hero’s world: traditional, destroyed, reconstructed and psychologically restored. Special attention is paid to the ecological dimension of literary texts and the formation of students’ ecological consciousness through literary education. Practical models of educational projects (“Map of the Hero’s World”, “Ecological Map of Ukrainian Literature”) are proposed, aimed at integrating literary analysis with digital and visual learning technologies. It is substantiated that project-based learning in literary education ensures the transition from reproductive assimilation of knowledge to students’ research and creative activity.
