Abstract

In the article the spiritual and educative activity of Kyiv–Mohyla academy in the context of metahistory in light of the main archetypes of the Ukrainian culture (archetype of word, archetype of the ethical value of free individuality, archetype of sophity and archetype of heart) is examined. The archetype of word is a crosscutting and symbolical structure for all periods of the Ukrainian culture. It gains a hypostasis of spiritual sword in the context of cultural and educative of Kyiv–Mohyla academy. The archetype of free individuality’s ethical value appears in the organizational principle of the academy’s existence and in student’s education in spirit of freedom and liberty. The archetype of wisdom is revealed not only in the research projects of Kyiv–Mohyla’s professors but also became a pointer for G.Skovoroda’s spiritual way. In the spiritual and educative activity of Kyiv–Mohyla academy a central place takes cordocentrism (philosophy of heart), a brilliant representative of which was G.Skovoroda.
