Abstract
As the basic function of middle class is to ensure economic, social and political stability in the country, therefore its formation in modern Ukraine can be considered as significant criterion of efficiency of reforms which characterizes durability of system of economic, social and political institutions. It is necessary to overcome a number of problems in social and economic, sociopolitical and cultural planes in order to ensure the continuation of the process of formation of middle class in Ukraine. Therefore the stance of middle class on some points of policy of the state can be considered as the most compromising and can be grasped by society as the certain basis for the solution of social contradictions and securing of social consensus.
