Abstract
The manual contains the theoretical basis of the core technologies of local computer networks and a set of practical work, which allow to consolidate the theoretical knowledge and gain skills in working with networks. The principles of action, properties and settings of the hardware used in the basic network technologies is the basis of all types of computer networks. The main issues to create and configure networks with a common communication medium, circuit-switched and packet routing, and wireless networks. The publication is aimed at teachers and students of universities, teachers and students in colleges and specialized schools.
