Abstract

Dissertation for the Candidate Degree of Pedagogical Science by specialty 13.00.04 – theory and methods of professional education – Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University – Kyiv, 2015. The dissertation focuses on the development of the modern university education in the Netherlands in the context of European integration processes. The main stages of the Netherlands university education historical development are highlighted and characterized in the paper. The Dutch university education features are defined, including: preserving the uniqueness of the universities in the Netherlands higher education, the unity of educational and research activities in the universities, involvement in European integration process. The key components of the university international activity are highlighted: the organizational support for academic mobility, joint training programs, exchange programs. The Netherlands university education priority directions are highlighted: the democratization of the university management, the higher education quality improving, the growing role of the public organizations that operate to ensure effective cooperation of universities and the authorities. The possibility to use the efficient experience of the Netherlands university education reforming in the modernization of Ukrainian higher education is substantiated in the research. The main ways to use this experience are the developing of the internal and external system for the control of education quality, the network of higher education institutions optimization, providing conditions for academic mobility of students, research and teaching staff, the integration of educational and research activities in the universities at all stages of profesional training, the devision of Master programs into academic, research and teaching, the effective system of the higher education public funding which is based on the teaching outcomes assessment and student financial support system. The main activities of the modern Dutch University are an educational and research activities. The integration of the educational and scientific components is an important step towards providing quality profesional training in the Netherlands universities. Involving students to research occurs at all stages of the university education (bachelor, master, doctorate). A key role research component plays on the stage of doctoral and master's degrees. The reasearch gives grounds to state that the reforming process of the Netherlands university education has a logical, thoughtful, consistent character. His main achievement is the higher education successful integration in the united European educational and scientific space.
