Abstract

In the article the basic scientific ideas about aspect studying of image-characters in the course of literary education of high school students from ancient times to the late nineteenth century are investigated. Traditional and innovative views of teachers and literature scholars on the issue of formation the literary-theoretical concept of image-character are described, an effect of scientific schools on development of literary theory and educational technology is traced, scientific statements by representatives of different methodological trends as for educational content of characters studying is analyzed. The author determines the content and nature of the studying, the role of textbooks in educational goals implementation. The conclusion about social, historical, national, axiological and philosophical aspects in the analysis of image-characters at different stages of methodical thought development is made.
