Abstract

The article highlights the contribution of Ukrainian scholars to the development of Frebel’s ideas of the activity approach to the upbringing of children of preschool age. The ideas of Frebel’s activity approach in pedagogical system that were and remain relevant in the theory and practice of preschool education in the end of the XIX – early XXI century are described. Their interpretation by Ukrainian scholars is presented in the light of achievements in pedagogy, psychology, physiology and under the influence of socio-ideological inquiries, strategies for the development of the system of education in general and the preschool in particular.
