Abstract

The academician of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, the head of the All-Ukrainian Archaeological Committee, the famous art critic Aleksey Petrovich Novitsky was closely associated with the Crimea. Having a summer residence in Koktebel, he belonged to the intellectual circle of M. Voloshin. During the civil war in Russia, he lived and work in 1918 - 1922. in Koktebel and Feodosia. In this difficult time of the change of political regimes and social instability, he did a lot to preserve and museumify archaeological sites, the cultural heritage of the peoples of Crimea
