Abstract
The article deals with the problem of text style preserving in the process of translation. It is emphasized, that the translator comes across with translation difficulties of semantic and stylistic nature, and, to overcome them, has to possess good knowledge of the source and target languages as well as background and metabackground knowledge. The urgency of text style preserving is among the essential tasks of the translator, as it influences the translation text perception by the reader.
