Abstract
The thesis studies parental competence in the young couple. The paper systematizes psycho-pedagogical scientific views on the content and structure of the "parental competence» concept, outlines the conceptual basis of the parental competence formation in the young couple on the basis of which optimal psychological conditions of its formation are allocated. The essence of the parental competence concept of the young couple as integrative characteristics of the couple is defined as those which consists of a dynamic set of acquired values, abilities, knowledge and skills that are essential for good performance of parenting (care, education, learning, child development) and presents psychological and educational potential of a young couple for the successful fulfillment in parenthood. The paper presents the original program for the formation of parental competence in the young couple, which was aimed to provide parent education, interactive cognitive activity, motivation to competent parenting and introduces a psycho-pedagogical technology.
