Abstract

In the article are determined the directions of evolution of approaches to understanding the essence and content of leadership: from the ones, oriented on separation of the determining role of guider-leader to the ones, oriented on social process, based on the deepening of interconnections and interactions in collective, attainment of the common aims of leader and followers, ability to changes and innovations. There is observed evolution of the leadership theory, from the model with one component – “guider-leader” to the one of two components “guider-leader – followers”, and further to the formula with three components “leader-followers – managerial process”. Exactly within this triangle is offered to identify the essence and content on the notion “leadership”, to create the programs of preparation and improvement of qualification of the guiders in educational branch, directed on formation of their competences, behavior styles and on training of the team behavior in collective. In the article is stated that the leadership is available to any person in organization, it is not a prerogative of only guider, formally appointed to the post. Leadership is not concentrated on the concrete posts or roles, it is dynamic and can transfer from the one person to the other, and as a consequence the power distance between leaders and followers is reduced. In this connection the object of research of leadership is displaced from the TOP-level to the middle and low links of the management. As a result there is a need to study leadership as a mass egalitarian phenomenon.
