Stage of professional training has the essential role in the process of person’s professional evolvement. Matriculation of a young person to higher education establishment accompanies with significant reconstruction of activity, transformation of values and self-perspective which require adaptive processes. At the same time successful accommodation to new social status as being student influences the efficiency of inclusion into profession. Theoretical analysis of learned treatises testified that adaptation embraces different areas of activities and intercommunion of first year students and wasdetermined by interrelated activity of external and internal factors with predominance of the last mentioned ones. Empirical study found out predominance of average level of adaptedness anddisadaptation among first year students who obtain pedagogical major. In the meantime subjective assessment by first year students their level of accommodation to higher education was biased towards high rates and the most common difficulty, according to the opinion of surveyed, is insufficient skills of self-organization and self-control together with more difficult conditions of studying in higher education establishment in compare with school. It was detected that unfavorable relationship between student and group mates and professors may provoke student’s disadaptation, however support of parents and their approval of professional choice facilitate first year student’s accommodation to higher education establishment. The significance of motives for matriculation to higher education establishment on level of adaptedness and disadaptation was not found out how evermotivation of their studying has essential impact on efficiency of accommodation to higher education. For the majority of surveyed essential factors of adaptation is an integration of cognitive, social and profession-oriented motivation of education and professional activity. There is a feedback link as eth efficiency of adaptation influences actualization of certain education motives.
