Abstract

In the article the conceptual foundations of contemporary foreign literature textbook for students in 8th grade. Analysis of psychological and pedagogical features of older teens study their requirements for textbooks showed the need for a new structuring of literary and artistic material in modern textbooks, the need to use modern methods of submission. The current textbook seen as structural and functional system aimed at developing reading competence of students in grades 8, constructed with specific perceptions of works of foreign literature, designed to develop the creative potential of the individual.
