Abstract
This article deals with the scientific and pedagogical foundations of educational vocal repertoire as a means of forming the professional competence of the future teacher of musical art. The peculiarities of vocal training of students in the conditions of university education were analized. The structure and content, the style and genre characteristics, the artistic value and pedagogical expediency of the educational vocal repertoire were determined. The principles of choosing a vocal repertoire, the methods of mastering it by students and the possibility of its further usage in vocal – performing and musical – pedagogical activity were characterized.
