Abstract
The article reveals the role and place of emotional intelligence in the personal growth of a younger student in the context of a new Ukrainian school. The interdependence of the ability to understand their emotions and other people, to manage their emotions and success in life, profession, society is noted. Characteristic of emotional intelligence is presented, the features of its development in young school age are determined. The biological and pedagogical factors of the development of emotional intelligence of students in the educational process of modern elementary school are outlined
