Abstract
The article is devoted to the coverage of the activities of the military unit (section) of the Extraordinary Diplomatic Mission of the Ukrainian People's Republic (UPR) in Romania, which was created in February 1920 by reorganization of the military mission of the UNR, previously deployed here. Since its establishment, the department has performed a considerable amount of tasks, engaging in the reception and temporary placement of former captives of Ukrainians who could be used to replenish the army of the UPR. If necessary, the Mission's military unit provided financial assistance to Ukrainian military reconnaissance residents, who collected intelligence information, as well as distributed anti-Soviet campaign materials through their agents. In early December 1920, the military unit actively participated in the restoration of communication with Colonel A. Gulyj-Gulenko, head of the 1st Uprising Army group of the UNR, who at that time supervised the activities of the anti-Soviet underground in the southwest of Ukraine. The successful operation of the military unit is largely due to his chief – General S. Delvig, who proved himself a brilliant organizer, having managed to unite around himself a small group of loyal ideas of national-state liberation of Ukraine officers of the Army of the UPR.
