Анотація
The article examines the influence of the St. Petersburg literary and folk tradition of the18th –beginning of the 19th century on the plot of the poem "Mednyy Vsadnik" by A.S. Pushkin. With the help of historical-genetic and comparative-typological methods, the peculiarities of Pushkin's mythologization of the capital city were revealed: the use of the main markers of the Petersburg text (climate, landscape, personality of Peter I, eschatology) and the addition of the mythologization of the house, the "little" person, the center-periphery contrast. Thus, the poet, having mastered the classicist tradition, supplement edit with the folk one and created his own literary myth, in which the majestic and tragic constitute the in dissoluble unity.
