Abstract
This paper focuses on the research of structural and semantic peculiarities of gender idioms denoting human personality, which means that the aim of this research is to discover and reveal the mechanisms of gender specificity in the structure and meaning of phraseological units nominating women’s and men’s features of character. Referring to the socially constructed characteristics of men and women, such as norms, roles and relationships and between groups of womenand men, gender is represented in the language model of the world by different language means, idioms among them.
