Abstract
The purpose of the discipline is an in-depth study of undergraduate concepts about the essence of the library, archive, information center, their functions, role and place in metasystems; mastering the methodology of using philosophical, general scientific and special concepts, principles of cognition, scientific approaches in the learning process. Objectives of the discipline: - to determine the nature and possibilities of realization in the research and practical activity of different concepts in the field of library science, archival science, information activity (information-documentographic, information-communication, socio-cultural, socio-communication, axiological, etc.); - analyze the main methodological approaches used by researchers to develop scientific and applied problems of information, library and archives (systemic, activity, information-resource, socio-communication, institutional, synergistic, phenomenological, hermeneutic, etc.); - to show specifics of use in library science, archival science, information activity of philosophical, general scientific and special methods and principles of cognition; - to reveal the evolution of methodological ideas of scientists about the role of the book, document, information, library, archive, information center in the development of culture, science, education and society as a whole; - to plan and conduct independent scientific research.
