Abstract
The article analyzes the foreign and domestic experience of the concepts of "grief work", the stages (phases) of residence and the features of accompanying a person in grief. The behavioral manifestations and emotional reactions of children by age are characterized. The views of researchers on the question of "when to tell a child about death" and "how to tell a child about loss" are covered. Children's literature is provided, which is accessible and illustrative of the topic of loss. The conditions for providing support and assistance in the grief of preschool children are defined. Recommendations are given regarding the regulation of emotional background and outlines the basic concepts for the implementation of psychological and pedagogical support of the child in the process of loss.
