The article discusses the relationship of self-actualization and attributive styles of students. The concept of self-realization, its quintessence in psychological science, is revealed. Self-realization is considered as an internal activity of the subject, the purpose of which is to identify potential opportunities, values and significance. The result of this activity is the achievement of one’s own uniqueness, values and life goals, the formation of a person as a subject of his own life functions. The article describes the main provisions of the concept of attributive personality style, describes its main types. Attributive style is a stable way of interpreting situations that arise with the subject himself. The effectiveness of the subject’s self-realization depends on his attributive style, optimistic or pessimistic. The empirical results of the differences between the samples of psychology students of the 1st and 5th courses on self-realization about the attribute style are presented. Significant differences were identified for such components of self-realization: support, competence over time, self-esteem, self-acceptance, synergy (perception of the world around us) and mutual understanding. These indicators are most pronounced among students of the 5th year, which indicates a higher level of development of their communication skills, cognitive needs, the ability to defend their psychological boundaries, a more harmonious attitude towards themselves and the world around them. By the components of the attributive style, significant differences are revealed only by one variable personalization (internality) in positive situations. The indicators for this variable are also higher among fifth-year students, which can be explained by a greater certainty of their professional interests than among freshmen. Direct correlations between an optimistic attributive style and components of self-realization, such as the ability to feel the present moment of one’s life, to feel the continuity of the past, present and future, self-esteem, a holistic perception of the world and opposites, are revealed. More correlations were found in a sample of 5th year students. This can serve as evidence that the development of optimism can increase the aforementioned components of self-realization.
