Abstract
The theoretical basics of teaching instrumental and performing disciplines in the university education system are investigated in the article. The role of instrumental and performing skills in the professional training of future music teachers and the necessity of interdisciplinary interaction in the educational process are determined. The scientific and methodological works on the problems of teaching students of musical and pedagogical specialty in instrumental classes are analyzed. Program requirements for instrumental and performing discipline for students of classical and pedagogical universities are generalized. The expediency of applying didactic and artistic-aesthetic principles of teaching student-instrumentalists is proved. Researchers of this process include didactic principles: professional-pedagogical orientation of teaching; science; systematicity; sequence; accessibility; pedagogical expediency of the applied forms, methods and means of teaching; communication of theory and practice, etc. The observance of artistic and aesthetic principles in the instrumental class is seen in: unity of intellectual, aesthetic and spiritual spheres of students' activity; unity of artistic and technical; artistic value, genre and style diversity and multifunctionality of the educational repertoire. 5 professional functions (educational, developmental, training, artistic, creative and scientific-methodical) are outlined. The professional competences of a teacher-instrumentalist of a higher educational institution are considered: instrumental and performing competencies; historical and theoretical competences; music-pedagogical competences; methodological competences; projective and constructive competences; research competences; functional competencies, which are constantly being improved at the Department of Instrumental and Performing Skills of the Boris Grinchenko University of Arts.
