Abstract

As a result of this article, the most effective, competitive, motivational, and technical characteristics that take into account the form of professional and practical psychology will be obtained. Empirical and practical psychological support (103 individuals). For the search of the blockade victorian blocks “Formulation and modeling of a practical psychologist” (O. Pereligina as modified by T. Lyhomynа), “Questionnaire for the diagnosis of integrated image satisfaction” (O. Perelygina in the modification of T. Lyhomyna) and the method “Motivation of professional activity” (K. Zamfir in the modification of A. Rean). Methods of empirical data processing: interest, determination of the average score, ranking. The study showed that the vast majority of respondents equate the concept of “professional image” with a list of professional knowledge and skills and personal qualities of a psychologist and do not take into account important components of the structure of professional image such as: social (the image of the ideal psychologist related) and image (knowledge of mechanisms and desire to create an image) components. The motivation for the professional activity of practical psychologists is based on internal motivation, the desire to become a professional psychologist is not imposed by external incentives. Also, they found that respondents are generally satisfied with how they think their professional image is formed and what impression they make on the recipients of psychological assistance and the audience of the image (children, parents, and colleagues). Empirical research has made it possible to explore the features of cognitive, evaluative, and motivational characteristics that affect the formation of the professional image of practical psychologists. The results of the study revealed a number of contradictions in the analysis of psychologists’ own professional image, which necessitates further research and development of a training program aimed at forming (correcting) the professional image of practical psychologists in the education system.
