Abstract
Despite the active research on agency journalism activities worldwide, the focus to the Italian news agencies and their role in contributing to the effective and efficient information delivery remains very poor. Therefore, the aim of this article is to identify the main trends in the coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic after the government decrees related to Italian government decrees dated to October 25, 2020 within the information messages presented by the leading Italian news agency - ANSA. This agency is considered to be one of the oldest existing Italian new agencies to deliver top and hot-spot news for Italian and global audiences. As a result, the study of the peculiarities of this news agency activity and information delivery on COVID-19 challenges to the local Italian target audience will support the understanding on how to deliver effectively difficult decisions of the government to change the way of life for the ordinary Italians. This experience can create an added value for the Ukrainian news agencies in order to communicate with citizens about the second wave of the COVID-19 outbreak.
